We’re in a place submerged in total darkness, a world where the light is far away. Something dwells deep within… In the Darkness, Everything Went All Black is a unique opera experience that stages and investigates the sensory qualities of darkness. A stage work for two opera singers and live-electronics, presenting an active listening experience in the dark.

King George III, “the Mad King”, who ruled Great Britain from 1760–1820 had recurring episodes of mental illness and was also subject to torture. In the performance The Man Hanged, the stage artists portray his extreme physical and mental aguish. This involves for example soloists suspending themselves from hooks pierced directly through their skin.

We enter the musically narrated thoughts of Judith as she is tormented by anxiety, and follow her inner dialogue between mind and soul as she decides to kill the enemy Holofernes in order to free her people. Untitled is a contemporary interpretation of the tv-show TV Party that was aired in the 80’s in New York.
